But there have been VA problems for years. Some facilities have always been bad. That's no excuse, but it's not something new. It's something very old.
Although the need for expanded facilities became greater since 9/11, the medical facilities for many in the military have always been worse, rather than better, than that which serves the general public.
And this is just one more reason of many, why the government should not be in charge of our health care system. There are very few things that our government excels at. Yet few people seem to get that message and keep clamoring for more and more government involvement in our lives.
Walter Reed and Bethedsa Naval Hospitals, among others, should be taken over by public or privately owned corporations and held responsible by accredited boards of physicians and lay people, and not run by politicians.
