Larry, I know Kelly is right! I have pointed out the same and very similar things following Katrina and some rhubarb unceremoniously informed me that I was fascistically covering for Dear Leader. The fact is, people sat around WAITING for the government to come save their silly butts, rather than taking responsibility for themselves.

I saw, on TV, right there in front of my eyes, a fella out in a rural area, being interviewed by a reporter, and heard, with my own ears, this poor dumb fool sitting on his front porch complaining that they were getting low on water and didn't have much food left and it had been two weeks and he was upset that the government hadn't come by to help. Well, it immediately occured to me that, had there not been a hurricane, this dumbass would have eventually ran out of food anyway and would have crawled into one of the half-dozen vehicles sitting in his front yard and went into town and bought more. But, under this particular circumstance, he stupidly believed he was due a government solution.

Stupid, also, was the reporter who did not suggest to the man to get off his lazy rear, but, instead, looked into the camera with soulfull eyes and said, "One more Katrina victim wondering where FEMA is ... back to you [Bob]."
