VX, I'm sorry I lumped you in with the Bush-worshippers and Vietnam dead-enders. But your views on GW are simply uninformed. The facts were laid out on this board before, so I am forced to conclude that your lack of knowledge is wilful, the result of your not wanting to believe that some minor inconvenience to you will serve any purpose and thus need not be undertaken. This sort of denial is common among people of all political persuasions. It may yet turn out that GW is not caused by human activity, but that seems extremely unlikely on the evidence we have today. Policymakers would be unforgiveably dumb to share your opinion.

Booger, much of what you write is true. GW, whatever its cause, is happening. It won't even be all bad. But a "What--me worry?" attitude, while fine for an individual who doesn't care about posterity, is irresponsible and stupid for a government. The best science indicates that GW could be slowed somewhat (though not stopped) by releasing less greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. We also need to be planning and preparing for a rapid transition to a warmer world. It all may be for nought, but not to try is foolish.
