My next door neighbor is a Gubmnt auditor. He was also wounded in the Nam and is a disabled vet.

Last year he spent 6 months checking on the rebuilding of Iraq. He said there was a lot of corruption and theft going on by the Iraqis, but added that he saw no signs of what could be described as a civil war.

The bulk of the problem was in and around Bagdad by those who are either looking for revenge or trying to make the new gubmnt fail, but with little or no organization that comes with a civil war.

He is not a Bush lover and I doubt he voted for him considering some of the things he has said about him. However, he likens the Iraq conflict to that of Bosnia/Serbia (where he spent (2) 6 month tours doing the same job) - he bleieve that when we leave they will go back to killing each other unless the occupation will lasts for years - otherwise will have to be done again sometime down the road. It is a pay now or pay later thing.

I know of few people of his experience in these matters.
