Scalise's excuse for speaking in front of a white supremacist group was plausible - a fresh candidate with a small staff, running from place to place, sure it's possible that a staff member flaked on a simple search on the group that he was appearing in front of. Taking money from one of David Duke's top minions? Not so much. And now Boehner is trying to defend this dope, since he's one of the few allies he has. I didn't think it could get awkward after Strom Thurmond, but I was wrong.
