Char, no matter what percentage of voters turnout you toss out it still would make no difference in how the campaigns would look. You said it yourself: "The candidates don't have to give people a reason to vote for them if they can give enough reasons not to vote for the other guy." Telling me why I shouldn't vote for the "other guy" doesn't tell me a thing about why I should vote for you. That only leaves one logical option -- don't vote for anyone because either way you really will get what you deserve. 

Well, we elected the black guy. What's next? I know! Let's vote for the woman! It's not about what you can do -- it's about what you are in the scheme of things today. Hilliary's chances are looking good.
