Obama has been a lame duck since the 2010 election. The Republicans have made sure that ending the recession, making the financial system more secure, and providing health care access to millions of Americans would be the last things Obama could do for the country. They prefer the aimless wallowing that has been the norm since they took the House. Winning control of the Senate will change nothing. What will they do that they can't do now? Hold more stupid hearings? Their program is mush.

Shad, your article has been overtaken by events. The PPACA has not failed. No one could possibly sustain such an elaborate conspiracy anyway. It was a small step forward and will not be repealed, because its provisions are popular (with the exception of the mandate/penalty, which is only there because legislation has to "pay for itself" these days). Single-payer would be better, but we're stuck with the "system" we have as long as elections are bought. No one outbids insurance companies, big pharma, and the health provision corporations.
