I don't want Gore, but if he is planning a run, this is the way to go about it successfully, in my opinion. He's got a lot of free publicity from the movie, and now Hillary, Edwards, and Obama are taking potshots at each other. He could "reluctantly" enter the race after widespread voter dissatisfaction with the feuding frontrunners. He could save money in the early stages and basically inherit the organization that others (and the DNC) have built for the general election if he manages to win the nomination.

The few times I've seen Gore on TV recently, though, make me wonder if he's interested in running. He seems to have let himself go. He was hardly a matinee idol in 2000, but now he looks puffy. A Gore-McCain matchup might be the ugliest contest ever. (Giuliani isn't easy on the eyes either.) A third party candidate may have to be drafted for the debates so people would have something to look at that didn't make them shudder. Obama, Edwards, and Romney are attractive, and that has to help some.
