Hi char,

Oh, I know of the policies you mentioned. I just disagree that those policies account for the failure of the predictions of Ehrlich, et. al. to materialize. Ehrlich and other population 'experts' were thoroughly convinced that human population trends had passed the point of no return and no measures could fend off catastrophe. They were wrong. And just as significant, family size has decreased in countries where there were no such policies. Contrary their predictions, starvation and famine did NOT materialize but in fact lessened, despite the quadrupling of the world population in the 20th century.

Coming from one who routinely pegs his opponents as living outside the city limits of 'Reality', and/or as ignorant dupes with their heads in the sand, whining about insults rings pretty hollow. :)

The world isn't going to heck in a handbasket. On that, we appear to agree. Even if the entire world fell in lockstep behind Gore and his policy proposals, the effect on GW would be negligent at best. On that, we appear to agree also. Since the jury is still out on whether humanity is the primary cause of GW, or even a significant cause relative to other contributing factors and given the patterns of global warming and cooling that have occurred throughout history. If we all started riding bicycles tomorrow (at which time liberals would aim their daggers at Huffy and Schwinn, "Big Pedal'), would global warming still occur? I don't know. But I do know that, as of today, I don't have any plans to park my car(s).

Take it easy, bud.
