Char, I have never doubted that a small level of global warming has existed, and hopefully still does, for the past several centuries.

I agree that empirical evidence has been noted for the global warming as we have emerged from the Little Ice Age, and for our continued emergence from the most recent period of continental glaciation. Geologically speaking that is only an eye-blink (and hopefully) behind us at this time.

There is, however, no empirical evidence for any level of mad-made global warming that I have found--and I have looked. Coincidence in time is not empirical evidence of anything beyond coincidence.

There is a great deal of paleontological evidence that Earth is normally much warmer than our present climate conditions.

Man-made global warming (as I've previously noted) is perhaps the ultimate "liberal" dream. It requires actions by governments whether those actions are to the individual advantage of the citizens. It requires the expenditure of vast amounts of other people's money. Finally it gives all believers something horrible to be anxious about. In short it is everything "liberals" want, need, and desire.

I have no problem with "liberals" having their dreams, but I very strongly object to being caught up in their fantasies since I share few, if any, of them. I tend to be somewhat more reality oriented.
President Reagan summed it up nicely, "Some people go through their entire lives wondering if they made a difference, Marines don't have that problem!!!"
