By "same bunch" I meant wacko prophets of doom and gloom.

So, it isn't the same people at all! This completely invalidates your "point", which was that they were wrong before so why should we listen to them now? These people were not wrong about global cooling--indeed, I have no idea whom you're talking about on that, and I suspect you don't either.

Far from "prophets of doom and gloom", the people you denigrate are trying to give us hope and call us to action. It is your side that is the doom and gloom bunch, telling us we can't do anything to prevent the continuation of the warming we now all see, so we may as well party on and accept whatever the Climate Gods dictate.

The climate models are incomplete and often come up with wrong predictions about certain aspects of global climate. That does not mean that they are all completely worthless, as you seem to be implying. They are being improved every year as the result of research, and the basic conclusions are accepted by the vast majority of researchers. They're another part of the investigation, all elements of which trend in the same direction: atmospheric CO2 concentrations do in fact play a significant, predictable role in the Earth's climate. The precise amount of GW attributable to it is being argued about, but it is clearly more than zero.
