Duke, it's a weird and cramped mental world you live in. We in the reality-based community are waving to you in your self-constructed cage.

Oddly enough it would also appear to me that we do indeed have bars between us--we just differ with regard to who is in that cage (as well as the identity of the builder).

The entire belief system of man-made global warming is based upon ideas such as (roughly) 400 years of thermometer readings--which requires the Little Ice Age, convering most of that period, be used as a norm. There are even staunch proponents of GW who deny the preceding warm period even existed--though agricultural records firmly support it.

A claim is often made concerning a 90% agreement among scientists--I'm quite sure that an even higher acceptance level existed for the Ptolemaic universe. BTW--There are very serious questions with regard to that 90% level of acceptance. Such figures are the stuff of the opinion sections of newspapers, not of scientific journals.

Contrary to the views of the attendees of the last Al Gore rally, there is a very large difference of opinion is to the nature, and perhaps even the current existence, of any rapid climate shift.

President Reagan summed it up nicely, "Some people go through their entire lives wondering if they made a difference, Marines don't have that problem!!!"
