There's a real bright idea, close down one of the major military hospitals in the country, while there's a steady influx of seriously wounded soldiers. Do you actually believe that local clinics are going to have the resources to care for these men, or even the space? And privatization won't help these guys either, especially the ones in need of long term care. A hospital operating for profit is going to find real quick that patients like that cost money, and reduce profits.
