sr,

sr: "As usual, you fail to get it."

I'm quite certain I DO get the point I made. Did you find it necessary to be informed by the NYT editorial board that actions are legal only because there aren't laws against them? Was that unclear to you before you read that sage legal analysis?

sr: "What Delay and his pals were doing should have been a criminal activity."

That's completely beside the point. Whether or not it should have been criminal, as a matter of FACT, it wasn't/isn't. Why not? Because, as the geniuses at the NYT editorial board explained the blindingly obvious, an action isn't crime until lawmakers criminalize it!

sr: "Perhaps Delay's racket is a minor matter compared to your analysis of a sentence, but for some reason, the former seems to be a bit more important."

Not to the Dem leadership in Congress. And besides, Delay stepped down as a result of the trumped up charges. But liberal hatred won't be sated until he's wearing an ill-fitting orange jumpsuit.

sr: "Then again, I'm not particularly fond of a skeevy *$*$ who was quite eager to help sweatshop owners avoid the horrors of having to pay their workers minimum wage."

Yeah, compared to paragons of virtue Chollie Rangel and Maxine Waters, Delay is a real bad apple. Thank God the Dems have drained the swamp.
